Symphony，正如它听起来的那样，非常的严肃和正式。它指的是交响乐，交响曲。在Merriam-Webster词典中，它的定义是：a long piece of music that is usually in four large, separate sections and that is performed by an orchestra.

Orchestra，管弦乐队，乐队演奏处。其实知道了中文意思，在词典中，关于它的定义：a group of musicians who play usually classical music together and who are led by a conductor; a group of seats in a theater that are close to the stage 就可以很好的被理解了。

可能有人会问：那交响乐团怎么说呢？很简单，交响乐团就是把上面两个单词连起来：symphony orchestra。classic music一般都是由symphony orchestra所演奏的。常见的classic music名人有Haydn、Mozart、Beethoven、Schubert等等。我现在播放的这首曲子呢，是Mozart的《Serenade the fourth movement》，也就是《小夜曲第四乐章》。

其实我刚刚有个单词的重音是不对的，不知道大家有没有注意到是哪个单词。

Beethoven的Symphony No.5 in C Minor, Op.67, "Fate"可能更为大家熟知，中文名字是《命运》。op是拉丁语opus的缩写，意思是“作品”。op.67指的是音乐作品的编号。那么同symphony搭配的词有哪些呢？原歌词中出现的是：I've been hearing symphonies. 除了hear a symphony，我们还可以用write a symphony。For example, Beethoven was expert in writing symphonies.
除此之外还有：

rhapsody，出现在原歌词“a rhapsody for you and me”当中，指的是吟诵史诗，狂想曲。在词典中有很多定义，如a portion of an epic poem adapted for recitation; a musical composition of irregular form having an improvisatory character.

recitation：an act of reciting
improvisatory：即兴创作的

string，用作名词我们都知道是线、串等意思。但当它用作动词时，可以表示为束缚的意思。正如歌词当中所出现的：“life was stringing me alone"，但其实string还可以表达为乐器调弦，即升降调的意思：to equip with strings, to tune with the strings of; to make tense: key up.

因此当“life was stringing me alone”的下一句出现“then you came and you cut me loose”时便也不难理解cut sb. loose即是let loose的意思。

我在录音的过程中，这首歌始终on repeat，所以sth. be on repeat～～on repeat～～on repeat，这个词组的重要程度一般般，但是就想说三遍。

在我看来，整首歌词中最浪漫的部分非“I'm dancing on to your heartbeat"莫属了. 充分显示了小鹿乱撞的小心思，“伴着你的心跳声翩翩起舞”，了不起。

最后在介绍一个词组be running out of ：后面可以像歌词中接“I was running out of luck", 也可以用run out of gas; run out of steam.
